Homepage: www.marhl.com Marko Marhl was born on 13th April 1967 in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia. In 1991, he graduated in mathematics and physics at the Faculty of Education of the University of Maribor. In 1994, he was awarded his master's degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Maribor, and in 1998 he obtained the academic degree Doctor of Science in Physics. He has been employed at the University of Maribor since 1989. In 2009, he became Full Professor of Physics at both the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Maribor. Since 2003, he is Head of the Continuing Education Centre at the Faculty of Education of the University of Maribor. For a short period (2006-2007), he was Vice Dean for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Education of the University of Maribor. In 2007, he was appointed Vice Rector for International Affairs at the University of Maribor for a period of four years. In terms of research, he is engaged in the general analysis of dynamical systems. Biophysical systems from the field of cellular signalling are still the basis on which the local stability analysis of attractors and the influence of external signals on the system are being studied. Young researchers and postgraduate students of physics from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics participate in his research work. He was/is the coordinator of six national and six international projects.
