Jan Sadlak, President

Jan Sadlak was elected in October 2009 as the President of the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence.
He is internationally recognized and highly cited expert in higher education policy, governance and management at the system and institutional level. His research interests and publications cover such topics as processes of reform and transformation in higher education and science policy, organization of doctoral studies and qualifications, private higher education, “world-class university”, quality assurance and academic ranking as well as ethical dimension of higher education and academic values.

Gero Federkeil, Vice President [CHE – Centre for Educational Development]

Gero Federkeil, Manager in Charge of Rankings, CHE-Centre for Educational Development, Germany. Since 2000 he has been working at the CHE Centre for Higher Education Development as a project manager. His main fields of work are ranking, evaluation, quality management and performance indicators. He is coordinating the international ranking activities at CHE and has published on quality assessment and rankings.

Liu Nian Cai, Vice President [Shanghai Ranking Consultancy]

Prof. LIU is now the Director of the Center for World-Class Universities and the Dean of Graduate School of Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. His current research interests include world-class universities and research universities, university evaluation and academic ranking, research evaluation and science policy, and institutional research and strategic planning of universities.

Waldemar Siwinski, Vice President [Perspektywy Education Foundation]

Waldemar Siwinski, founder and president of the Polish Education Foundation “Perspektywy”. WS has considerable experience as author of professional rankings. He prepared over 40 rankings of universities, business schools and secondary schools in Poland.

Robert James Morse [U.S. News & World Report]

Robert Morse is the Director of Data Research for U.S. News & World Report. He is in charge of producing the America's Best Colleges, the America's Best Graduate Schools and America's Best High Schools rankings all of which are published annually by U.S. News & World Report. He takes the lead role in survey design, ranking methodology changes and higher education research as well as monitoring data collection.

Victor Antonovich Sadovnichy [Lomonosov Moscov State University]

Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Full member of the Russian Academy of Science Mathematics Department, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Section (1997, corresponding member since 1994). Bureau member of the Russian Academy of Science Mathematics Department (1996). Member of the Russian Academy of Science Presidium (1996).

Marko Marhl [University of Maribor]

He is Head of the Continuing Education Centre at the Faculty of Education of the University of Maribor. For a short period (2006-2007), he was Vice Dean for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Education of the University of Maribor.

Michelle Cooper Institute for Higher Education Policy

Michelle Asha Cooper, Ph.D., is president of the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). While leading one of the world’s premier research and policy centers, she oversees the organization’s expansive research portfolio and innovative programmatic activities focusing on access and success, accountability, diversity, finance, and global impact.

Ferdinand Devinsky, President, Slovak Academic Ranking and Rating Agency (ARRA), Slovak Republic, Prof. Ferdinand Devinsky is a member of the governing board of the Slovak Academic Ranking and Rating Agency (ARRA). He is a member of the Slovak Parliament and Chairman of the parliamentary committee on Education, Youth, Science and Sports. Prior to being elected to the parliament Prof. Devinsky was a rector of the Comenius University in Bratislava.

Paul Serban Agachi, President of the Academic Council, vice-rector of the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, professor of Process Control at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the same university, and member of the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania.

Sholpan M. Kalanova, President of Independent Kazakhstan Quality Assurance Agency in Education (IQAA.KZ). She obtained Diploma of Engineer from the Kazakh Chemical-Technological Institute in Shymken and Doctoral degree from the Institute of Organic Catalysis and Electrochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR as well as title of the Doctor of pedagogical sciences from the Moscow State Pedagogical University.

Olesya Lynovytska , Head of the Ukraine TOP-200 – best national Universities ranking project.

PHD in Medicine. Since 2006 is engaged in introduction of international ranking principles of high and secondary school education in Ukraine. She is Director of International Project Centre at Scientific Research Institute of Applied Technologies (Kyiv, Ukraine).

Dr. Kazimierz Bilanow, Managing Director

PhD Poznan University; MCL Columbia University

MA University of Warsaw. Fulbright scholar at the School of International and Public Affairs and the Graduate School of Journalism, Columbia University; fellowship at the Institute of State and Law, Academy of Science, Moscow. Researcher at the Institute of State and Law, Polish Academy of Science.
